Empowering Photojournalists

About us

Soora is a non-profit initiative developed by the Samir Kassir Foundation, a leading freedom of expression and media development non-profit organization. Whether you’re a media outlet looking for exclusive content or a photographer seeking a platform to showcase your work, Soora is here to help.
The renowned landscape photographer and environmentalist Ansel Adams once observed that ‘there are always [at least] two people in every picture, the photographer and the viewer.’

At Soora, we endeavour to support the photojournalists behind each frame, while also providing the viewer with an ethical and principled source of visual narratives.

Our Mission

In essence, Soora is a bridge between Lebanon’s most gifted visual storytellers and the world. Launched by the Samir Kassir Foundation, our mission is to celebrate and sustain Lebanese photojournalism by providing a dedicated platform where the artistry and sincerity of local photojournalists and videographers can shine, be discovered, and be licensed with ease.

We exist to empower creators with a secure and transparent method to share and sell their work, while giving global audiences access to an exclusive library of compelling, royalty-free images and videos. Whether you are crafting a digital campaign, publishing a magazine, or developing a creative project, Soora offers content that is both visually striking and deeply rooted in the lived realities and experiences of Lebanon.
Our licensing process is designed to be clear, fair, and accessible so that journalists, content creators, and media professionals everywhere can work with confidence knowing their visuals are high quality, ethically sourced, and free from copyright concerns.
In choosing Soora, you are not just acquiring powerful visuals. You are investing in independent journalism, safeguarding cultural memory, and amplifying the authentic voices of Lebanon through photography and video. Explore our growing collection and bring your vision to life with imagery that tells an unvarnished Lebanese story.
